Client: The Hornet Bookstore @ California State University, Sacramento
I rebranded the identity of one of Follett's college bookstores, the Hornet Bookstore. Follett Higher Education is a division of Follett Corporation that specializes in providing services and products to colleges and universities. Its primary focus areas include campus bookstores, course materials, technology and digital solutions, retail services, and student support and engagement.
The Hornet Bookstore is committed to supporting the academic and social experience of Sacramento State students by providing essential educational resources, Sacramento State branded merchandise, and exceptional customer service to enhance the campus community. 
This is the final sketched out concept depicting the university's mascot, the hornet, emerging from an open book.
The Hornet Bookstore's original logo was type only and was very wide. Instead of changing the Aleo and Myriad Pro typefaces, I instead kept it and stacked it into three lines. These fonts follow Sacramento State's mimic guidelines.
Iconography for social media uses such as profile photo and highlight story covers (In order from left to right: Text Info, Technology, Café, Customer Service, Announcements, Community, Sports, and Misc.) [Temporarily royalty free icons until newer ones are designed]
These are examples of branding across various types of material. Adding employee uniforms can actually enhance the shoppers experience in case they need assistance. Managers would wear black to help differentiate roles.
In addition to designing the brand identity, I was tasked to design and manage the Hornet Bookstore Instagram account to gain more student interaction beyond store doors. Free giveaways never fail to attract the college demographic. Above is an animation I created for a Grad Fest giveaway for example.
